Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission is within the scope of the journal.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the research in the manuscript and approved all its claims.
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- The manuscript has been prepared following the formatting guidelines and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The author(s) confirm that the research undertaken does not require ethics approval. For research that requires ethics approval, the author(s) must confirm that an ethics committee approved the research project.
- All images and figures sourced from other articles have proper referencing of the source as well as permission to reuse from the original publisher. It is the authors' responsibility to seek permissions to use images and other copyrighted materials.

"IPI Letters" is dedicated to promoting the dissemination of high-quality research in the field of information science. Our peer-reviewed articles serve as the cornerstone of scholarly publications in the journal, representing rigorous and original research that contributes to the advancement of knowledge within the field. These articles undergo a stringent peer review process to ensure their scientific validity, quality, and adherence to ethical standards.
Opinions
IPI Letters is committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment for the exchange of ideas and opinions within the field of information science. As such, we provide a platform for "Opinions" articles that offer authors the opportunity to express their viewpoints and insights on scientific matters related to information. These articles are not peer-reviewed research articles and may not necessarily be supported by scientific evidence. They represent the personal perspectives and interpretations of the authors.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting "Opinions" articles to "IPI Letters" should:
Present their opinions clearly and logically.
Avoid personal attacks, offensive language, or derogatory remarks about individuals or groups.
Ensure that their articles contribute to the constructive and informed dialogue within the field of information science.

News and Views
"IPI Letters" is dedicated to facilitating discussions and knowledge dissemination within the field of information science. To this end, we introduce "News and Views" articles, providing a platform for authors to report on existing scientific findings in the public domain and bring to readers' attention significant aspects in the field of information physics. These articles share similarities with "Opinions" contributions but focus on summarizing and commenting on established research and scientific developments.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting "News and Views" articles to "IPI Letters" should:
Present clear and well-informed perspectives on existing research.
Use respectful and professional language, avoiding offensive or derogatory content.
Ensure that their articles contribute to a constructive and informed dialogue within the field of information physics.

Copyright Notice
The execution of this Copyright Release allows Author(s) to retain full but non-exclusive rights in the Manuscript:
1. Licence
The Author(s) grants the Publisher the following rights:
The non-exclusive perpetual right to reproduce, publish, supply and communicate the Author’s Manuscript as part of the IPI Publishing to the public, including the right to exercise the Rights and, without changing the content, to translate the Manuscript to any medium or format for the purposes of preservation. The Author(s) also agrees that the Publisher may keep more than one copy of the Manuscript for the purposes of security, backup and preservation.
2. Attribution
(a) IPI Publishing articles will clearly identify the Author(s) as the author of the Manuscript.
(b) The Manuscript are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License, which permits Author(s) to copy, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, transmit, and adapt their work in any medium, without obtaining permission from IPI Publishing, provided that full and appropriate credit to IPI Publishing for first publication is noted. Under the CCAL, authors retain the ownership of the copyright for their article.
3. Acknowledgements
The Author(s) acknowledges that:
(a) they will not receive any payment from the Publisher for the grant of rights under this Copyright Release;
(b) the Publisher may remove the Manuscript from the IPI Publishing at any time at its absolute discretion; and
(c) they have no termination rights under this Copyright Release.
4. Warranties
The Author(s) warrants that:
(a) the Manuscript is their original Manuscript;
(b) they have obtained consents in writing from all previous publishers of the Manuscript to enter into this Copyright Release;
(c) they have obtained consents in writing from third parties which have any materials reproduced in the Manuscript to publish the Manuscript;
(d) they can grant the rights under this Copyright Release and the Publisher’s exercise of those rights will not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of third parties;
(e) to the best of their knowledge, the Manuscript is accurate as at the date in which the final version of the Manuscript is submitted to the Publisher and as far as reasonably possible they have sought to verify all statements in the Manuscript which purport to be true and accurate;
(f) to the best of their knowledge, the Manuscript does not contain any scandalous, defamatory, or obscene material or any material which is actionable for interference with privacy, infringement of copyright, breach of confidence, passing off or contravention of any other private right; and
(g) they have not engaged in any practices in preparing the Manuscript that would amount to plagiarism or any other form of academic dishonesty or research misconduct under Publisher policies and rules or which would (or would be likely to) bring the Author(s) or the Publisher into disrepute, and that they have complied with the Publisher’s policies, procedures and rules.
(h) where the Manuscript is a thesis, a student project or coursework, it is a direct equivalent of the final officially approved version that was submitted and marked, and only minor emendation of content has occurred.
5. Breach of warranty
The Author(s) agrees to:
(a) notify the Publisher as soon as they become aware of any circumstances relating to the breach or potential breach of a warranty in clause 4;
(b) provide the Publisher with all reasonable assistance in relation to the conduct or defence of any legal proceedings which may be commenced by or against the Publisher in relation to the breach of a warranty in clause 5; and
(c) indemnify the Publisher against any actions, costs or expenses arising out of the breach of a warranty in clause 5.
6. Jurisdiction
The Author(s) agrees that this Copyright Release is governed by Laws and Regulations of England.

IPI Letters (the "Journal") is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who submit personal data to the Journal.
The Journal collects and processes personal data in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data includes any information that can be used to identify an individual, such as name, email address, postal address, and telephone number.
The Journal only collects personal data that is necessary for the purpose of processing article submissions, publishing articles, and communicating with authors and reviewers. Personal data collected by the Journal may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Postal address
- Affiliation
- Biographical information
- Manuscript files and supporting documents
The Journal will not sell or otherwise transfer personal data to any third party, except as required by law or as necessary for the purpose of publishing and promoting the articles submitted to the Journal.
The Journal will take appropriate measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. The Journal will retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.
Authors and reviewers who submit personal data to the Journal have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data at any time. They may also withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data by contacting the Journal.
By submitting personal data to the Journal, authors and reviewers acknowledge that they have read and understood this Data Protection Policy, and consent to the collection, processing, and retention of their personal data by the Journal in accordance with this policy.
