Abstract

This work investigates an asymptotically safe extension of the Standard Model based on gauged baryon-minus-lepton symmetry, with particular emphasis on the behaviour of the Majorana Yukawa coupling at ultraviolet fixed points. In this framework, spontaneous symmetry breaking generates a Majorana mass for sterile neutrinos, providing a possible connection between quantum gravity, neutrino mass generation and leptogenesis. The analysis classifies the fixed-point solutions according to whether the Majorana Yukawa coupling vanishes or remains nonzero and examines their dependence on the gravitational parameters and the kinetic mixing between the two Abelian gauge sectors. In the absence of kinetic mixing, all benchmark points considered support a real, nonzero Majorana Yukawa fixed point. When kinetic mixing is included, the allowed gauge fixed points become more constrained, and a nonzero Majorana solution exists only within a restricted region of the gravitational parameter space. The results demonstrate that kinetic mixing can qualitatively alter the Dirac or Majorana character of the fixed-point solutions by modifying the gauge contribution entering the Majorana Yukawa evolution. A nonzero Majorana Yukawa fixed point preserves the mechanism for generating sterile-neutrino Majorana masses at representative leptogenesis scales, whereas a vanishing fixed point removes this mass contribution in the ultraviolet limit. These findings highlight the importance of kinetic mixing when assessing the compatibility of asymptotic safety with neutrino mass generation and Majorana-based leptogenesis in extensions of the Standard Model.
